It's embarrassing when you can't even remember passwords, email accounts, nothing. I'd love for that to be the main reason why I haven't been on LJ, but it's not. I've been traveling, thankfully. Well, for awhile, at least.
First things first -- Hello, guys!
I hope all of you have been well. I have. Extremely so, actually.
I'm in Hollywood now. Okay, Los Angeles... Okay, Los Angeles county... okay okay! Torrance. LOL! It's not that bad, really.

I just moved back from London; I had a pretty sweet flippin' job there, working in Buckinghamshire in the sound studio of a film company, finally putting my degree to work. I loved it there. Here's some pictures of me at Sydenham and Sydenham Well's Park, in particular.
So I've been working as a Foley Artist. Basically, we record the sound that you hear in movies. Not like car crashes and lasers and stuff, but like little things, the subtle stuff that helps the movie maintain the illusion that it's real. I won't lie, it's not a glamorous job AT ALL! Mostly I was charged with going out and getting materials that we needed (ie. glass to break, nails, sheet metal) and make sure that we had enough of stuff in stock in case an 'emergency' came up. Not glamorous ... but fun! When we're recording, if I'm in on the session, we basically get paid to act like children. Who wouldn't like that?
I'm in Cali now because the studio has expanded and, since my work permit was about to expire, I applied for a job here (yes, I had to apply) and got it. YAY!

I just didn't have the time to update my LJ, especially since my participation in fandom would have dropped tremendously. It was one thing to be in school and have a bunch of extra time; it was another to be in London, with no time, working far too much, and unable to think about anything other than work ... oh, and clubbing... and, well... work, really.
And really, Harry Potter is done for me. I enjoyed
Deathly Hallows, but I didn't feel like there were any questions that I needed exploring. I did like how Oliver was prominent during the battle. That almost made me want to keep writing
4 Lettered Words, but I just didn't have the time, honestly. And Colin, poor Colin. I guess dead is dead. I knew she'd kill him; he was, like...the personification of innocence. I don't think she did a good job making people like him before killing him and she probably would have had more emotional impact killing Dennis, but I knew he was a goner. And as much as I would like finishing the
Enemy of My Enemy, I really couldn't muster the strength to.
Nothing else has held my sway like HP has, and I think it's more to do with the wonderful people I met during my brief time here.

So I guess it's just time to call it quits.
Someone has contacted me about taking over the Harry/Cedric story, however. I remember sending her my notes on how I had planned the story to end. I can't remember my old email that I used either. So if you're on my F-List still and see this comment to me and I'll drop you a line. That goes for any one else. If you want to pick up the story-line of any of my stories, then feel free to comment. I don't know when I'll get around to it, but...
So anyway... before I let you go, I did want to give you one last nugget, I guess. Before I left, I had worked another chapter of the H/D story SHELLS OF MEN. I've gone ahead and posted it. Read it if you like. If you've forgotten what that one was, it's the one where Harry defeated Voldy, lost his powers, and isn't coping so well -- holed up in Draco's flat. The idea for its conclusion was killer. If I do ever decide to finish something, it'll probably be that one.
You can find the new chapter here.
Cookie: The smell in my room — my bedroom, mind you — is beyond sickening. It’s as though a dying man has spent his last years shitting and pissing and vomiting and sweating. When I open the door, I’m almost thrown back by the assault to my senses. I cover my mouth and nose with one entire arm and grip my wand. I wade towards the middle of the room, hampered as if anchored to the floor, or as if the air was thick as pudding, with weight or strength enough to keep me at bay.
Well... I guess that's that. I really do hope everyone is doing well and life is going exactly how you want it to, or else this post is little more than boasting. I had fun; I hope you did, too.
But before I go, a final photo. Here's me in my apartment in Torrance, doing what I do best -- about to drink. A toast to my LJ-friends, who have given me plenty of good times. I hope you guys have nothing but good times, good fun, good stories, and good smut to keep your LJ-lives interesting!

Cheers!
